I have a love-hate relationship with suitcases. While they are fun to play in and sometimes comfy to sleep in (especially when the human has already put clothes in one of them), they usually mean that the human is leaving for an undetermined number of days. Sometimes I might travel with her, though.
When I was younger, my human had to travel a lot, and I quickly understood that suitcases were not a good sign: they have the power to steal my human from me!
One day, to show my discontent, I peed in an empty one my human had left opened. You think my human would have thanked me for trying to prevent the suitcase from kidnapping her? Pfft, not even! She was not pleased at all!
So I tried different techniques, but mostly sit-ins. It never deterred my human from leaving :-/
Do you like suitcases and if not, do you have a technique to make them disappear?
Whenever a suitcase appears I generally become mym mum’s shadow and do not leave her alone for a second, while glaring at the stupid suitcase!
We hop right into any suitcase that is opened. So far, the peeps haven’t taken us along, but maybe someday….
I watch my bipeds very closely when a suitcase appears. My cats like to climb into them.
My human never goes anywhere! I would like an opportunity to pee on her suitcase though!! ;)
Suitcases are very powerful things indeed. My Dalmatian used to sulk terribly when she saw one, although she never tried peeing in it :D She did climb in them, just like you (although she was quite substantially larger and had to get up to more antics to fit in :)
Well I haven’t tried the pee trick BUT I always enjoy leaving my hair everywhere inside her suitcase so when she’s deserted me on a trip, she thinks of me constantly as she removes the hair from EVERYTHING!

MOL! I like to leave white fur on my human’s black pants too!

We love Daddy very much but when his suitcase comes out of the wardrobe, it means we get to sleep with Mommy (when Daddy is home, we kitties aren’t allowed in the bedroom).
Oh yes! I miss having room on the bed next to my human, too!
Purrs
My cats love suitcases…even guest’s suitcases…somehow they make fun beds or hiding spots.
Oh Honey, I know how you feel. My only failing I might add, technique is sulking.
When our mum is even thinking of getting a suitcase out I know and start sulking and playing up …. Archie x
Oh, I’m sure your Mommy would have loved to have taken you with her every time she went anywhere!
Purrs, Sundae
I have to be sneaky with the suitcase. Once my Yorkie sees it, she just freaks out. Barks, cries, and gets all jumpy. Anxiety Anxiety. She is “high strung” and the suitcase un-strings her. :)
Ha, that is so cute and funny! When I lived in Italy and used to travel a lot, my kitties were the same way and started to realize suitcases were not a good sign and would try to hide in them so they could come along :-)
Oink oink,

Tex is that a teeny you up in those pictures? So dang cute and you have grown up to be a handsome boy. I am a human and I have a love/hate relationship with suitcases too. I love the thought of going some place but I am not a good traveler. I like home.
That is a teeny me and thanks for the compliments =^.^=
***blushing***
My human is like you actually! She wish she could teleport! Maybe I could go with her then!

Thank you for the wonderful memories that this brought back. Actually it was my Angel Bobo who also used to do “sit ins” with suit cases. Cody isn’t nearly as bothered by them as Bobo was, but then again, Cody hasn’t experienced me leaving as much as Bobo did.
Awwww… ((((purrs))))
I don’t like suitcases – they smell like “goodbye” – but thanks for this great anti-theft device – idea Texas ;o)
We don’t like it when those things come out either, but I never thought to pee in one!
Love the suitcase pictures. Shame the humans don’t take the hint and stay with us instead of going:-(
I know! They’re not as smart as they think they are!
Purrs
Love the pictures … what great memories!
Belles photos souvenirs, glop.
My cats loves suitcases… inside vision!
BOL, how the heck did you fit in that little holdall, so funny Texas :) xx00xx
Mollie and Alfie
That’s my human’s vanity case ;-) Very comfy actually ;-)

Ah yes, those dastardly suitcases…how we hate them. Mauricio has sprayed quite a few to show his displeasure. And once we furred one up so badly, the airline covered the whole thing is plastic wrap so our kittiness wouldn’t rub off on other passenger’s belongings. How rude? You really have a knack for settling in and making yourself comfy. Hope you get to go on the next trip. Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Josette
Plastic wrap? This IS rude!

AIIIEEEEEE!!!!!!! EVIL SUITCASES!!!!!!! They always take Mom and Dad away!! If I weren’t such a polite ladycat I might just take a teeny pee pee on those bags!! Just sayin’……
Oh well, it doesn’t work anyway…
Purrs
I get VERY upset when my human starts packing a suitcase! When is her boyfriend doing the packing, I don’t care much.
Is it an incredible shrinking suitcase or a fast growing cat? :D
Hmmmm… do I have to answer this question?
Purrs
The Red Man abhors the suitcase but was never clever enough to actually pee in it – great idea!
We don’t like suitcases either and we will have “sit-ins” in an attempt to keep LP from leaving but that doesn’t work! Ever!
the critters in the cottage xo
I’m starting to hate them too. Jay gets very upset when they appear and at first I didn’t understand why. Now I know. Hisssss
Oh we TOTALLY understand that sentiment, though we’ve not yet resorted to peeing in it. Our mom traveled WAY too much these past 2 years!!!
I almost never travel so I’m sure Shiner is thankful for that. Nice effort trying to save your human from being kidnapped though!
Shiner is lucky!
Purrs
We don’t like suitcases much either, Texas. Except for napping in. Fortunately, the mom doesn’t leave us very often so we don’t hafta deal with those suitcases much.
Ah! If only these could only be for napping!
Purrs
If you have kitties and a suitecase or a box, they will certainly attract one another! :-)
We know how you feel. No matter how much we try, those suitcases take Mom Paula away from us.
I am a Good Boy. i never pee on anything (except my litter box). You must be a very Bad Boy, I think. Heh heh.
Well, a kitty’s gotta do what a kitty’s gotta do ;-)
Purrs
Texas, is that a tiny little you at the top?!
We don’t even like it when our human goes somewhere for a whole afternoon. We don’t know what we’d do if she was gone for days.
That’s a tiny little me =^.^=
Purrs
Hey Texas..so nice to meet you!! You are one handsome kitty. My grandkitty Bunny lives in Brooklyn,NY so I have a long distance relationship with her. She will be 20yrs.old this April. You look so young. Your just getting started. As my kitty boys would say to the peeing in the suitcase…You Go Texas!!!
Hiya! Nice to meet you too and thanks for visiting my bloggie!
Bunny was born on the same month as me! But I will be only 7 in April.
I wish I could meet Bunny!
Purrs
We never like to see the suitcases either. We sleep on them to stop the humans going, but nothing seems to work.
You look so cute. How could she leave you?
Awww… thank you!
***blushing***
Whenever the suitcases come out, Moosey likes to try to fur everything inside of them up. We have to pack a lint roller, too. :)
Is that this round thingie that steals our fur?
Purrs
You pack to go very well sweet Texas! Hugs and nose kisses
Thank you =^.^=
