Mondays Are for Memories: Early Bookcat

In French, the word “bookworm” can be translated into the expression “rat de bibliothèque” (library rat). Well, I’m certainly not a rat (!) or a worm (!!) but I’ve always loved books! I guess that makes me a bookcat!

These pics were taken when I was about 9 months old, at my human’s Mom’s home. I was on top the book case. You can click on any picture of the gallery below to biggify and get to the diaporama but first I want to show you something.

Can you see the wallpaper peeling a little near the ceiling? It was me! I wanted to be a home decorator at the time! And can you see my tail? That’s because my human thought I wouldn’t be a good home decorator! The nerve!
You will be able to see that on several pics I am watching my piece of art very proudly!

Speaking of books, my human and I will review a wonderful book on Thursday.

I also learned from Cat Wisdom 101 that April is National Poetry Month. It will finally (I say finally because this has been a project since last December!) be the occasion for a book giveaway linked to poems, drawings and… kitties of course! And this will be on Caturday!

So I wish everyone a great week and hope to see you all on these two days especially!

  1. Texas you look like you’re up so HIGH! I bet you felt like king of the hill on top of that bookcase didn’t you….! I love books too except when my Mom’s reading one and I want her attention….then I have to try and take a chunk out of the book before she’ll pay any attention to ME ME ME!

  2. I think you did a fabulous decorating job. As you say, the nerve! Not surprised your tails wagging like that. Humans can be so hard to train. I just adore the pics of you lying on your back and playing with your tail.

  3. The peeling wallpaper was the first thing Mommy noticed. Hahaha. She had a bunny years ago who loved to add her artistic talent to the walls…by trying to lick off the paint!
You certainly did love being at the top of the bookshelf!

  4. You look sweet Texas on these pictures. I do love books too (but I am certainly not a bookworm), especially when they are open so I can have a nap lying on them. Purrs!

  5. Each photo of you is more adorable than the previous one. That was a great place to hang-out. Happy Earth Day! Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Josette

  6. Bonjour,

  7. oh, we hear you on the tail wag! you look pretty annoyed. honestly. why can’t humans leave it to the professionals? I mean, I worked so hard on their leather couch, shredding it ever so gently, and did I get a thank you? a tip? No. I got a face full o’ water from a spray bottle. well. that was the last time I tried to offer her any aesthetic aid, but I did go out to the vegetable garden and “rearranged’ a few things.
