A Tribute to Furriends and Two Kittens Looking for Their Furrever Home

Although we had planned to slowly go back to regular posting and I had something cool to show your from my place of birth, Paris in France, I want to dedicate this post to another subject.

As you probably all know by now, yesterday was a(nother) sad day: we learnt that our dear furriend Dash had been forced to the Rainbow Bridge. My human and I were shocked by the news of course, and by the circumstances that caused this. We had not known Dash for such a long time – about a year. Dash was a Twitter legend and of course, we had met him on Twitter, during a pawty held by Sparkle.

We had exchanges with him and his human and could feel how much they were dedicated to helping kitties together and they radiated kindness.

We want to pay a simple tribute to all the furriends that we lost recently. We are very sad to see you go, but we will always remember you and keep you in our hearts.

Below are graphics made by Miss Ann of Zoolatry, or the humans of the kitties gone to the Bridge. I hope it is okay that I have borrowed them. They are pictures of furriends I knew and followed (You can click on the pictures to visit their blogs). I know that other furry friends have gone to the Bridge too, and this tribute is for them too.

I find it appropriate to also use this post to share a special message regarding two kittens who are looking for their furrever home: Ray Charles and Rachel. If you haven’t heard of them, please share this info so that anyone who can be interested in adopting them could know about them.

They are currently being fostered by Selina‘s humans. You can also find more information by clicking on the image below: it will take you to their blog, set up by Brian’s human.

Thank you for your help!

To all a good weekend. Take care and hug your furry friends and/or humans!

  1. it is so sad how many of our furiends have gone the RB recently. Dash’s death was so devastatingly hard to hear about. What happened to him is so tragic. You are so nice to recognize these kitties and to help in the push to find a home for Rachel and Ray. Our mom has been pushing dad to let us adopt them, but he is standing firm with his eight is enough. Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

  2. It is especially heartbreaking to us to see how many other kitties have joined the RB lately. We always understood before how a loss was hard and we’ve always had empathy, but now with our own deep loss we truly “get it”. We only hope that there will no fewer sadness to share and more happiness. Thank you for remembering Abby, you don’t know much that means to us.

    ((hugs))

  3. Hi Texas……we are very sad here too because so many friends and even those who we didn’t know but wish we had – have gone to the Bridge. Especially Dash because of the circumstances. We have been sad but we like to think they are in a beautiful happy place now…..What a nice tribute to all who have left us Texas – we’ll keep them safe in our hearts forever. Also, we’re hoping Rachael and Ray get their forever home REAL soon……

  5. Dash was a special furriend; he and Nissy and I had such an adventure together searching for a long lost Necata canipbis and we have planned another search soon…I am not ready to say goodbye to him yet; maybe soon. And Jami and Smokey8 were equally tragic passings…hope my leaky eyes clear up soon

  6. Granny’s eyes are watering, so I just want to say how deeply sorry we are to read about your furriends, Texas. We only knew Dash for a short time, but we’ll hop over to your other furriends to sympathize also. Pawkisses to comfort you.

  7. It has been a very difficult month and there are a lot of new kitties over the Bridge. Our Angels tell us in our dreams that every kitty is working hard to show the newcomers the best clouds and how to use those wings.
We purr for all the families

We have been posting about Rachael and Ray Charles to help out

  8. Texas, I wanted to thank you for helping spread the word about Ray & Rachel! We’re keeping our paws crossed, though we just don’t get WHY no one’s stepped up to claim these two special babies.

We aren’t giving up hope, though!

    Purrz!
