Today we are going to the neighborhood of Williamsburg in Brooklyn, New York, to meet with Hayes and Rainer, at the Spoonbill & Sugartown, Booksellers bookstore.
Hayes – which can be spelt Haze, too – is the mostly black, tuxedo kitty.
Rainer is the tabby and is a tripod.
My human went to this bookstore twice because the first time, she only got to see Hayes. She did met Rainer the second time and was glad she did come back: Rainer was really affectionate.
According to the person my human talked to, Hayes and Rainer have been there for 10+ years and enjoy sleeping on books.
Here are some more pictures.

Once again, we would like to thank the bookstore humans for letting my human take pictures of the resident cats.

Hayes and Rainer do look very comfy sleeping on those books. Bookstores and libraries should all have resident cat(s). :)

Mom says that every bookstore needs to have at least one cat. That’s why the big chain bookstores just aren’t any fun. Too bad Haze wouldn’t look at the camera. Thanks for sharing this. Have a furry good weekend. Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Misty May, Mauricio, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

I LOVE this. I so wish there were such a thing where I live.
I think most businesses would improve with a cat on the premises. No wonder I shop on line so much–not enough cats in the real world!

Indeed, you can have one tab with Amazon, and another tab with a cat blog + a cat on your lap =^.^=
LOVED this. So glad to see some indy bookshops still open and cats fit in purrfectly. Can I link to you tomorrow?
It kind of gives a special aura to the store, to have a kitty boss around clients and employees, doesn’t it?
Please don’t hesitate to link, as we are glad to help these places be known =^.^=
Bravo!! We do love an old-fashioned bookstore, especially one that comes with two wonderful cats! Thank you for sharing!

Oh, this reminds me of Pam’s book (Sammy’s mom); it’s been awhile since I read it, but I think her main character takes her kitty to the bookstore….??! We now have a shop/office kitty, Gypsy. Kitties add so much to wherever they are!

Mom says that a real true bookstore should have at least one cat. I guess it is something about the character of a store with a cat that she enjoys.

These two kitties are awesome and so lucky to sleep on books. I am jealous as I can’t do so at home, Indy would not allow this. Purrs! Have a nice Sunday!

Thanks for introducing us to Hayes and Ranier. Every bookstore should have a cat. Bookstores are such peaceful places having a cat seems to add to that sense of peace. Love Cali, Andy, Tater and Shelly (C.A.T.S)
I think my Mommeh would visit any store with a resident cat!
