Happy Meow Year 2018 From Kitshka, Whiskey, and the Human!

Dear Furriends,

Many things happened since I last wrote, but I’ll be quick as I intend to blog about some of this next year.

First, the human made a Christmas tree in honor of Texas, Milou, and Grouik on a famous Austin road where people decorate trees every Christmas!

Then the human got a surgery… not sure what it is exactly but it didn’t look like something fun. Apparently it’s like going to the vet for humans or something. She came back the same day and smelt very weird and she was with one of her human friends. Whiskey immediately went to hide under the sink! And I was supposed to be the scaredy cat?!

That was funny because it was late and our human’s friend looked for Whiskey even outside in case he had managed to escape. In the middle of the night she was calling “Whiskey!” outside! MOL! Then they heard the closet door. And I knew my human’s friend was a good human because she pushed everything on the side so that Whiskey would not be near anything dangerous but could still hide there. Isn’t that nice?

The human is doing better, and she spent the week between Christmas and the Meow Year with us, which was nice, but we can’t sleep with her right now.

Also her friend offered her a laser pointer that is super cool. Only Whiskey is kind of monopolizing the human to play, but I manage to chase it too. We haven’t caught it yet though.

(I don’t look too impressed in this video because I had to direct my human to film this so I could show you, but I can catch the dot if I want to. I just don’t want to right now because it would frustrate Whiskey.)

Oh, I almost forgot! We deaded a mouse!

With that said, we look in the direction of 2018 with the hope that it will bring more wet food, more cream cheese, hours of chasing the laser pointer and the cat-a-pole, followed by hours of napping and plenty of petting from the human. And that we can go back to her room and sleep on her bed too. And we wish you the same for a very Happy Meow Year!

Happy New Year 2016 + Resolutions for My Human

Happy New Year my Furriends!

May 2016 bring you health, kibbles and wet food aplenty, and loving humans!

What do we expect 2016 will be like at my place?

Well, there will be more sleeping…

…more of me waiting for my human…

Texas | Texas, a Parisian Cat in America

…everyone trusting Kitshka with the car key… er, not sure this is the greatest idea, human!

Speaking of the human, we expect to have to try once again to keep her here…

…I know Kitshka, it’s kind of boring to have to do it every time.

Which brings me to my resolutions for my human:

  1. Come back to the state named after me: that’s where I am, plus it’s warmer and it’s friendlier, and that’s also where we are!
  2. Make me and my blog your priority
  3. Give us more treats
  4. Buy me more catnip toys…

Okay, I’ll stop here because I’m a nice, reasonable kitty.

My furriends, I hope you have a wonderful New Year’s Eve, and a great New Year! I’ll make my human help me with my bloggie and visiting you more next year! Now, if you’ll excuse us, we all need to nap now because my human is coming home tonight!

A special message for a special Ladycat

I would like to thank the beautiful Lisbeth of The Cat on My Head for being my Valentine, and her human for being such a nice human and contacting me and dressing us up so nicely. Can you adopt me? My human is not up to the job!

Here is a little something just for you, to go with your dress:

This is a period to have hopes (of what Santa is going to bring to you)…

…to have fun – this is Boxing Day!…

…and to be thankful and to make resolutions.

I am really thankful for the readers of my blog: that’s you! I thank you for taking the time to stop by, read, like and/or comment on our posts. My human knows too well that time is a rat precious and never allows for humans to do everything they want to do. You are there for us when we laugh at our humans, when we need purrs, to share showcase treats. All of you, I consider my Furriends!

I also received many awards that I have not officially accepted yet (but I am about to). As a way to say thank you to my Furriends, I have created a brand new award that I am introducing today. The “Share the Love, Share the Box” Award (on Boxing Day, ain’t that appropriate?) is a way to say thank you on this special day of December 26. I want to keep the rules simple so without further ado…

Share the Love, Share the Box Award | Texas, a cat in... Austin

1. Thank the blogger who nominated you for the award, and link to his/her blog
2. Post the award on your blog
3. Share the award with five bloggers and let them know!
4. Go find a box and have fun with it (optional but highly recommended!)

My five nominees are:
– Nissy of Nerissa’s Life
– Binky of Angelswhisper2011
– Hisia of Bleue comme Aby
– Sammy of One spoiled cat
– Sparkle of Sparkle the designer cat

It was really really difficult to give it to just five bloggers, but I hope the award will be shared, so all of those I wanted to share a box with will eventually get one!

I received other awards that I want to accept too.

Nerissa nominated me for one of his own awards, the Friends and Followers Award.

Friends and Followers Award | Texas, a cat in... Austin

Thank you so very much, Nissy! The rules are very simple.

1. Firstly, you need to post the award on your blog.
Done!

2. Secondly, you need to thank the blogger givin’ it to you and, if you don’t already, follow them. You can follow by e-mail or feed or a reader or any other method available. That even includes just checkin’ in with them every day or so if they don’t have any kind of followin’ method set up.
Done!

3. Thirdly, you need to pass along the FRIENDS & FOLLOWERS award to a few readers whom you know already follow you.
I know the award has already circulated so my apologies if you already received it. My nominees are:
– Binky of Angelswhisper2011
– Eirwena of Journal d’un chat : les aventures d’Eirwena
– Kjelle Bus of Charlie Rascal’s Destinies and Adventures
– Quill and Greyson of Housecat Confidential
– Flynn of Eric and Flynn’s Adventures

4. And fourthly – which is also lastly – you need to let ’em know. Let the bloggers to whom you’ve given the award know you did so.
Will do as soon as the post is published!

Franny’s Feline Film Forum has nominated me in November for the Dragon’s Loyalty Award. I already have it but I want to thank you so much for thinking of me!!

Magdalena Vandenberg nominated me for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award. I already have it too but I also want to thank you for thinking of me!!

There are others but I want to make a separate post because this one is already long enough.

Thank you all so much! I hope you enjoy plenty of boxes every day of the new year to come!

Merry Christmas Y’All!

All my Dear Furriends, furry ones and humans,

Sorry for the long silence. Milou is doing better but my human caught a huge cold and she was doing nothing (except saying she was turning into a cat because she spent much time sleeping – she wished!). We know your purrs and purrayers and thoughts helped Milou a lot and we can never say how much we are thankful.

We are thinking of all of you while we are getting ready for Christmas. In our house, “all is calm, all is bright”…

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

[We will be back on Thursday for, we hope, more regular blogging and visiting]

Catmas Trees in Austin, TX!

I have noticed that there were many kitty furriends living in Texas (especially Twitter furriends)! So maybe that is one of the reasons why when people decorate Christmas trees on the road here, you can find… kitty Christmas trees!

Below are two trees that my human saw on Loop 360 in Austin among dozens of decorated trees (you can learn a bit more on the tradition of Loop 360 Christmas trees on my human’s blog). I think they are pretty cool! If the humans would trust us with a Christmas tree, this is how I would like it decorated!

Thanks to everyone for your Thanksgiving wishes! We hope you had a good one too.

Did you get some turkey? We had just a little (no really) and it was enough to make us snooze ;-)

If you have the impression that the size of our pics is strange and not really the same for all pics, it’s not an impression. That’s because the female human cropped them so that you would not see too much of our excellent work of turning the black couch white. I think she has given up on the couch being black!

Happy Thanksgiving to All My Furriends!

Today is Thanksgiving, a day to be thankful for what we have. And what are Kitshka, Milou and I thankful for?

Our humans: we complain a lot about them because they are far from purrfect (they’re no cats!) but they give us noms, toys and a warm home (speaking of warm home, human, it is getting colder, can I have an electric heating blankie for Christmas?). They also pet us and although they can be a real bother when they take pictures of us, we know that that’s because they adore us like the deities we are. Thank you humans!

Our furriends: we are so happy and thankful to know all of you thanks to our blogs, Facebook pages, Twitter accounts, etc. I have furriends all around the world and they leave sweet and funny comments on my bloggie and are always here to send purrs when they are needed. Thank you my furriends!

– Which lead us to be thankful for the tools that enable us to communicate between furriends: WordPress, Blogger, Google, Facebook, Twitter, etc. Thank you for the great humans that invented them, and made most of them (actually all of those I have named) free. I have no doubt that there were kitties behind these humans but thanks anyaway!

So Kitshka, Milou and I wish you all (kitties, woofies, all furry friends and their humans) a very Happy Thanksgiving!

We also wish our Jewish furriends a Happy Hanukkah! Did you know that this year the first day of Hanukkah and the day of Thanksgiving happen the same day, and that won’t happen again in 70,000 years?! It’s Thanksgivukkah!

Have a great day y’all! Eat well, nap well, and cuddle with your humans! Purrs!
