Mondays Are For Memories: How Was I Supposed to Watch Bird TV?

One difference between France and the United States, from my observations, is that French humans tend to have drapes on their windows, while in America, I saw a lot of blinds.

In any case, what the humans do not realize is that when drapes or blinds are closed, it’s like humans wanting to watch TV while the TV is still in its box: we can’t see anything!
My human learned the hard way with her drapes back in France…

drapes

Yes, that’s me who did that =^.^=

And of course, I also had to find a solution for blinds when we were in New York! But guess what? She didn’t like my solution! The nerve!

Kitshka Friday: We Want the Sun Back!

Kitshka Friday: We Want the Sun Back!

Hiya everyone!

Before I tell you what beautiful me is doing, I want to remind you that we have a giveaway for 2 Shelter Cat Dolls from Dream Pillow. Here they are:

Dream Pillow

Follow the link to yesterday’s post (by clicking on the image above) to discover what you have to do.

This is not a giveaway for catnip sticks, kitties (it seems some of you misunderstood. Easy on nip, kitties!). It is a giveaway for these 2 shelter cat dolls.

So, what have you been up to lately?

Today is a crappy day where we live.

Milou is at the vet again for, er, constipation issues. Nothing serious but I bet he is a bit tired of going to the vet regularly because of this (and surprisingly, we don’t get any reward cards for free treats for going to the vet regularly like the humans have in their stores! I think that is not fair!).

It’s been raining, and there is a LOT of wind outside, and it’s in the 30s (that’s a temperature of around 4C for our European furriends), which means nothing to see on TV that is much interesting. So we’ve been busy doing nothing Texas and I.

I found an abandoned blankie that is quite comfy on the couch. I made it mine, since it had been abandoned. Now if only the human could stop taking pictures. That’s the problem with rainy days: not only is there nothing on Bird TV, but the humans can’t go out to take pictures so guess who is being photographed?

What are your favorite activities when the weather is that bad and the humans can’t stop bothering you?

Kitshka Friday: The Scoop Pillow

Kitshka Friday: The Scoop Pillow

The other day, I found a new pillow on the couch. It had a sticker on it that said “litter scoop”). It was a scoop pillow!

I have to say it was not exactly comfortable, but just when I was starting to get used to it, it disappeared and I found it back near… our litter box! The sticker had disappeared though! How strange is that?!

Yes, this is our – Texas’ and mine – fur on the couch. We are working day and night to keep it not black. We work faster than the humans trying to clean the couch.

Are your humans using weird pillows too? And are they constantly taking your fur out of their your stuff?

Thankful Thursday & Happy Halloween!

I have been a little off the Internet lately because the humans had to deal with serious stuff of their own that took them a lot of time and energy. I won’t give you any detail because my human would probably suspend all my accounts everywhere if I did but things seem to settle fine and they seemed happy yesterday so I am hoping I can get more time now and my human can focus on the important things in her life, starting with me!

This is why I am thankful today: good news for the humans and me attention ;-)

I apologize for not visiting regularly if at all. I’ll try to make amends.

Now today is Halloween! Kitshka and I are going to Misaki and Mollie‘s Halloween Ball!

I am going with the charming Lisbeth of The Cat on My Head. Lisbeth chose the costumes and her human did the picture of us. Thank you so much to both of you!!

texasandlisbeth

I have the prettiest partner! You are pawsomely beautiful, sweet Lisbeth! Lisbeth is dressed as Catherine the Great. She is Lisbeth the Great!!

Kitshka is going with Bailey of Bailey Boat Cat.

Bailey-Kitshka-Halloween-Ball-2013-

Kitshka is dressed as a pumpkin and Bailey as a black kitty. My human wishes she had a little more time to work on their costumes and she hopes Kitshka and Bailey still had fun!

Finally, to wish you all a spooky, furry Halloween, here is a Halloween decoration my human encountered:

Kitty-Hallowwen-2013

Nothing kitty is scary, if you ask me, but it makes for a nice decoration!

Happy Halloween everyone!

Kitshka Friday: Helping the Human to Be Productive… With a Song or Two

Kitshka Friday: Helping the Human to Be Productive… With a Song or Two

Us kitties know that to be productive, we need to take lots of naps between the productivity sessions.

This is Texas’ human I was dealing with below (sometimes, Texas has to nap so I agree to take over). See, I settle behind her computer screen, next to the window, so I can both snoopervize her and watch Bird TV.

But humans like Texas’ human rarely agree to take naps (silly humans!). So I have to invite her to take a break. My super cuteness helps, as you are about to see.

Human! It's time for a break!

Human: Kitshka,
I’d like to know where you got the notion…
To rock the boat, don’t rock the boat baby,
Rock the boat, don’t tip the boat screen over…

Oh! That's a different song! You're singing!

Tocks Story, Cat Scouts, and the Halloween Ball

Tocks Story, Cat Scouts, and the Halloween Ball

I’m taking a break from my Mondays are for Memories series.

Those of you who are furriends with me on Facebook know that I have been extra nice this weekend in order to lift my human’s spirits: cuddles, staying next to her, coming when she calls (well, that’s not often that I would do that!), purring all day…

All of this generally works pretty well. One thing I found out works well too in this kind of situation, is making the humans laugh. Have you tried?

I tried to play monorail cat, for example…

Tocktober | Texas, a cat in... Austin

… but the couch was too big for my tocks!

Tocktober | Texas, a cat in... Austin

Who said it was my tocks that were too big?!?

Tocktober | Texas, a cat in... Austin

Anyway, I asked Kitshka to show her tocks to see if the problem was mine. Mademoiselle Fluff gave us a show!

Tocktober | Texas, a cat in... Austin

So I relied on playing with her to distract the human (please, forgive the mess around, strangely cleaning the house is not necessarily a cheering activity for humans…)

The human laughed. Mission accomplished.

In other news, I have officially asked Lisbeth of The Cat on My Head to come with me to the Halloween Ball. But I am waiting for her answer.

I have also convinced my human to register me for the Cat Scouts. I have never received my confirmation email thanks to which I can complete my registration though. So I guess I’ll have to get my human to send them an email.

Maybe my human should cuddle with me now, while I am waiting for these two impawtant email?

Happy Tocktober everyone!

A Green Cat Treat (Kind Of): Human Sunday Silliness

The day before yesterday, I was reading a post at Catsparella’s about German cat’s tongues and you might remember that my human once made some that I posted about on my bloggie, and it reminded me of something!

With the move, I forgot to share about my human’s silliness. My human is a little bit silly sometimes. I have to agree with the male human that she does try some weird stuff in terms of food. Wonder what I’m talking about? No, I’m not talking snails or crickets, I’m talking green stuff. Like green cake. She claims it’s Matcha tea and that it is both good and healthy. I thought it was nip! It is not!!!

When we lived in New York, she used to shop at H-Mart, a Korean grocery chain, a supermarket rich in Matcha tea things of all sorts.

All sorts.

And my human, the silly silly one, she has to try them. Regardless, too, of the name on top of the, er, food. Please forgive me my furriends but am I the only one here that thinks there is something wrong with that name?!

Texas: Human! Does this look like cat’s tongues to you?!?

I did some research on the Internet and found the following. OMC!

To a Japanese processed food company, what is more exotic than English lettering for their packaging? One company, Sanritsu, one-upped the industry by mixing French and English together. Flench and Engrish. Flengrish. But there are dangers of utilizing Flengrish. That’s what I thought when, at my local Japanese market, I happened upon a box of couque d’asses.

Someone literate in both French and English would notice that the box contains cookies of asses. Ass cookies. And the experience is enhanced by the subtitle of “langue de chat cookies and chocolate,” or cat’s tongue cookies and chocolate. I just kept thinking of all the places of a cat’s anatomy that can be reached by his tongue, and from which area a chocolate-colored cookie might appear during an intense self-cleaning session.

She claims the cookies were not bad but with little interest. She thinks the male human and I have not seen her throw the rest of the cookies away after I found the post above.

Silly silly human. I might as well start a Silly Sunday series.

Life Goes On With A Song

Life Goes On With A Song

If you are furriends with me on Facebook, you might have seen that our humans took us to the vet for our rabies booster yesterday.

At first we were a little worried we were going on a road trip again. And vet or else, we made our complaint heard in the car. The three of us sang the “The Warrior Songs of our brotherhood & sisterhood in three-part harmony”, as Spitty purrfectly put it.

Want to hear it? No problem! Turn the volume up and wait until the end (it’s less than one minute long) to hear the three of us together.

Can you tell who’s who?

The high-pitched one is of course Little Kitshka, the lower one is Milou. I’m in the middle!

Feel free to use it as an inspiration next time your humans take you to the vet!

My human, who prides herself of having recorded our performance, has not recorded my solo performance in front of the vet! Rock-Hiss-N-Growl is its name! I wish I could have shared it with you too!

Other than that, we are all doing fine. I am, er, a healthy – cough – 14 lbs. Milou has gained back some weight too, and is now a little more than 8 lbs (back from around 6 lbs). The surprise is that beautiful Kitshka is already 9 lbs! The vet and the humans seem to think it’s a lot for a one year old kitty. But Little (hem!) K is fit and doing a lot of exercise. Also, the humans aren’t exactly sure what her cat father was, only that he was a long-haired kitty (the cat mom is a shorthair). So it might be that her cat father was a massive kitty? What do you think?

That said, she’s always eager to push me out of my bowl to eat my food!

Well, my furriends, I gotta go now. My human and I have some planning to do for my blog.

Texas planning is blog posts

Wishing you all a great Sunday!

A Comeback On My Second Blog Anniversary

Thank Ceiling Cat for WordPress notifications: otherwise my human would have completely forgotten that today is my second Blog Anniversary. Yep, it’s been two years since I first blogged.

Kitshka, as always, is ready to celebrate. Even though my human missed her Gotcha Day (which is unusual for my human… service isn’t what it used to be).

Kitshka: Let’s Pawty!

I have met many furriends during those two years and I am so glad for that. We are still late visiting all these very furriends though :-/ We’re coming!

Yesterday, we saw 5 of these in our front yard:

Texas a Cat in... Austin; deers; Deer TV; Bird TV;

We were very interested, but my stupid human would not let us out!

Texas a Cat in... Austin; Texas; deers; Deer TV; Bird TV;

Let me out! Let me out or I’ll meow all night!

Kitshka: Are these deers?
Milou: I think so.

Hello little Gecko family!

The other day, the humans received friends of theirs. An entire family! Three of them! But that was okay because they were very nice and they love cats and petted us. Also they said they were visiting the château de Texas (Texas’ Castle). Those can’t be bad humans.

They went to Austin with our humans and my human brought me this picture of this car.

Is that my car?! Is that my second blog anniversary present? I asked. Dream on, she answered. How rude.

Here’s what I think about this, human:

I hope you are all doing fine. I know some furriends have gone to the Bridge :,-(
I’ll be visiting each of you very soon.
